Well, that was one hell of a ride. If i think back on the season, I think dirty neighbours and some fantastic rock n roll with a wedding here and there.

Despite “the neighbours” very best attempt to shutting down the Cape Farmhouse Restaurant, Red Rock Tribal and the Zimbabwean Sculptures oh and Sunscene, they have failed and we won the departure. There are many restrictions for the restaurant which need to be appealed and we need to win in order to re-open next season. It is unfortunate that the savings we normally use to get us through the winter has been used up by our many many lawyers and it is with a heavy heart that we have to close our doors for the winter say goodbye to our staff who have been with us since our inception.

I will still be behind this email info@capefarmhouse.co.za. All weddings and events previously booked with us will still be happening from now until next year and I really hope that by September/ October this year our doors willl once again open the wedding bells with ring and the rock n roll will rock!

To all of our supporters, friends and co-workers. The support through this time has been more than amazing and we will do our level best to ensure that we continue for many years to come because what’s a Saturday without a bit of Frans’ Beer and come local lekker tunes my bru…

This is a five-piece in the rising… Jack and bassist Jimi Curve have long been in each other’s lives, performing in various projects in and around Cape Town. With the inclusion of saxophinist George Sax, pianist Dom Benigno and drummer Jon Case the five piece is complete. Jack’s masterful, ‘Adam Duritz‘ way with lyrics, his booming voice and love of guitar suggest that the band is all acoustic with backup from the drums and bass. However, the acoustic element is a mere base for the band to explore greater genres sub-cultures and influences.

The name Hog Hoggidy Hog has been etched deep into the mosh-wounds of the South African scene. It’s been over a decade of action-packed, music, mishchef and mayhem since the young hoglets first blessed the decaying stage of the Purple Turtle with their debut performance. Now all these years, a few well received releases and with a good number of nationwide as well as European tours under their belt, having shared the stage with the top acts in the world of their genre such as Nofx, Mad Caddies and Lagwagon, nothing much has really changed. They may be somewhat more professional, a bit more well known and sound a lot tighter but it’s sometimes still a struggle to keep singer, George Bacon’s clothes on.

The Rudimentals are an eight-piece ska/reggae band from Cape Town, South Africa. The band’s releases include two CDs, More Fire and Set It Proper, and a live DVD/CD combo of the 2007 Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens Concert. The band is signed to the United Kingdom based Moon Ska World distribution label. The group is one of a handful of Cape Town reggae-influenced bands, and has been described as a South African institution in tourist guides and on websites.
